To collaborative learning and tasty beverages!

I suppose no one knows whats happening unless I get in here and mention some of the details.  I have reached out to a lot of different St. Louis folk who all agree that there is a lot of cool stuff happening around here, but there isn’t a lot of awareness and/or communication about it.

I see our chapter of Beer and Blog as one avenue for the important cross pollination between technology people, business folk, journalists, activists, teachers, students, artists and anybody else that is using this crazy virtual world stuff.  Since we are using blogs, twitter, the web, and other emerging tools for a myriad of things, it only makes sense to create a space for information sharing and collaboration to help folks accomplish what they want, gain exposure to a cross section of people, and build some additional momentum. Other groups exist, but they are often segmented, I see value in striving for diversity and cross-pollination.  Though fun is always important I heard a lot of people say that they didn’t just want another pointless happy hour, and I agree. I want to pick the brains of folks who know a lot more than me (it isn’t hard to know more than me) and I want to introduce people I know to other people that can help them do even cooler stuff. I’m just like that, and I bet some of you are too.

We can learn from each other, leverage experience, avoid reinventing the wheel, and have some fun while we do it. I’d love to hear some input about times, but the consensus is the Royale is a great spot.  I hope to see a whole lot of you there once we settle on a date and time. What do you guys think of a Friday post work gathering? Is there a better time? Thoughts? Can I buy you a beverage? (Doesn’t have to be beer, I like hot tea in this weather). Lets get together, I’m thirsty.

We’re starting Beer and Blog St. Louis!

Welcome to Beer and Blog St. Louis. I’m just getting things set up. If you are interested in coming or have a thought on when we should meet, leave a comment!

Your host,
